My precious ‘little’ angel face. I can’t believe it’s been 21 years since I gave birth to you. I remember when I carried you, I used to tell your Daddy that I wanted to keep you in my belly to keep you safe. 22 years later, I still feel the need to keep you safe and protected in this big, crazy world. But I also remember I could not WAIT to see what you looked like and who you would become. I could have never fathomed the person are. You are truly the sweetest, kindest, most gentle soul in the world. You are the epitome of what I would envision an angel to be. You are so loving, funny, and incredibly generous and selfless. You are driven, with an incredible work ethic and you are SO smart. You are the best human on this planet. And, I couldn’t be more proud to call you my son.
I cannot wait to celebrate you over the next few days. You deserve every good thing, my boy. And I pray the Lord blesses you beyond measure every moment of your life. Everything that I do is for you and your future. I will continue to work hard and do all I can to ensure you have everything you could ever want or need. My prayer is that you have peace and joy every day of your life. There are many things you have had to endure and you take them all with the greatest measure of grace. You are never unhappy. You never complain. You truly are the definition of perseverance and optimism. You are my hero, my boy.
I am beyond thankful for you, my David John. One of the reasons I named you David was because the name means beloved, and boy you definitely are beloved by everyone who knows you! You are the greatest gift the Lord has ever bestowed on me. I pray this upcoming year of your life is your best yet. And I pray every year thereafter continues to bring all good things to you. You, more than anyone I know, deserves every good thing in this life. You are my joy, my happiness, my peace and my heart. Happy 21st Birthday to my beautiful child.
